Glorious Peonies

I was confused to arrive at Columbia Road markets in July only to be greeted by a sea of peonies. For me, these flowers (and their smell) are associated with November in Australia- the time of the races, the lead up to Christmas and on demand for wedding flowers. Isn’t it funny how the sense of smell is so finely tuned to events…
