Vaucluse House

Many years ago I visited Vaucluse house with my mum and I remember dragging my heels whilst she ooohed and aaahed over the interiors. Just last weekend I went back with a good friend and fellow design affectionado, and this time I was spellbound by the simple beauty of this lovely historic house.

We both decided that the decadence of the parlour rooms was not our style and we would be much more at ease as a cook in the scullery or a maid in the humble, almost quaker style room at the end of the hall.
